On a typical job, the photos live in the camera roll, the notes in a messaging app, the snag list on paper, and the invoice in a spreadsheet. When a client disputes the work or an insurer asks for proof, there is no single record showing what was done, where, and when.
BuildAudit organises work by project, client, and address. Every photo is stamped with GPS coordinates, a reverse-geocoded address, and a timestamp, and voice notes can be recorded hands-free on site. Photos can be tagged (before, progress, after, issue), paired as before-and-after, and documents can be scanned straight into the project.
A punch list tracks outstanding issues with due dates and priorities, and open items roll into the Daily Site Log automatically. From the same project, the app generates three PDF report types — a Work Summary for clients, an Insurance Evidence report with full GPS and device metadata, and a Daily Site Log — plus itemised invoices covering labour, materials, tax, discounts, and company branding. Reports can be filtered by date range and photo tags.
Data lives in SwiftData on the device and syncs across a user's devices through Apple's private CloudKit using a custom sync layer, so there is no third-party backend and no account to create. Photos and notes captured without signal queue locally and sync when the connection returns, and every project shows how many photos are synced or still pending.
BuildAudit is live on the App Store as a freemium app: free to start with two active projects, with a Pro subscription unlocking unlimited projects, invoicing, punch lists, and watermark-free reports. Contractors get evidence they can stand behind in a dispute and invoices they can send from the job site, without a subscription to a team platform or a separate app for each step.
