01 / Problem

Health apps ask for a lot and give back a single date

Period trackers, pregnancy trackers, and wellness apps are usually separate products, each with its own account and its own copy of some of the most personal data a person has. Predictions are typically shown as one confident date that is often wrong, which erodes trust in the whole app.

02 / Approach

One private app for every stage, built local-first

Bloom covers cycle tracking, pregnancy, and postpartum in one place. Period, symptom, and mood logs feed fertile-window predictions, and the next period is shown as a realistic range rather than a single date. Once pregnant, the same app switches to week-by-week development from week 4 to week 42, with a kick counter, contraction timer, appointments, weight and blood pressure logs, and a birth plan.

Everything is stored on the device in AES-encrypted Hive boxes, with the key held in secure storage and Riverpod handling state across the app. There is no sign-up and no server holding health data, and your records can be exported as PDF or CSV whenever you want a copy. Beyond tracking, Bloom adds phase-aware content: yoga sequences matched to how the cycle or pregnancy feels, a cookbook with recipes recommended for your current phase, and a Mind & Mood section with daily check-ins, guided breathing, and a self-paced four-week wellness reset.

Education sits alongside the tracking. A symptoms library explains conditions like heavy periods, irregular cycles, endometriosis, and PCOS, and tools such as the contraction timer carry clear guidance that Bloom is not a medical device.

03 / Result

A single companion from first period to postpartum

Bloom is live on the App Store as a freemium app with a 7-day Premium trial. Users get one app that grows with them — from tracking a cycle, to counting kicks, to logging recovery after birth — without moving their data between products or handing it to a third party. Light and dark themes keep it comfortable to use at any hour.
